Hello Erica. My first message just scooted away, so just ignore it.
You guys are doing great and your website seems helpful. Just one question:
What is with Kenny's use of the term "doucebag". Erica, I know you would never talk like that:) It is a very negative way to get attention. It is very unprofessional and it is a degrogatory and disrespectful term for females. Have a look at OneCoach.com John Assaraff who excels at how business owners can attract their ideal clients and am sure he would tell you "doucebag" ain't going to do it. What do you think? If you don't mind the rain, slush and sleet, when are you guys coming up to see us? :)
Hey Pat
Thanks for the question. I realize the term Douchebag may be a bit offensive to some but we mean no harm in it. It is just to illustrate our point. There are some very sad and shady people out there that have no idea what they are doing with this business. They make the rest of us look bad and frankly, we wanted to shed some light on the subject. Sometimes you have to do something a bit on the edge to grab and hold people's attention. The videos are meant to cast a funny perspective on not so funny issues in our industry.
As you know - I am not a fan of the crazy Canadian weather so maybe the visit will have to wait until spring! Would love to see you though.

Hi Erica, it is hard enough to get our business going but the local paper printed a story from the local BBB rep and she slammed MLM's because of one bad company out in Phoenix. Any ideas how to ideal with this since we are new to this MLM stuff?Hi Clara
Here's what I would do.
First don't worry about the local paper and the BBB. Why? Because what they print doesn't matter. You're marketing efforts should be targeted to people who ALREADY believe in MLM. Stop trying to convince! You're only wasting your time.
Anytime you spend on explaining how wonderful this industry is or that it is legitimate, is time down the drain!
Get in front of other people who are ready to build a business but need help on how to do that. Then you give them advice and guidance (be a leader) and you will sponsor more reps.
This is the difference between opportunity buyers and opportunity seekers.
Here is a link to a blog post I did a short while back on that exact topic.
http://kennyanderica.com/mlm-tips-tricks/opportunity-buyers-vs-opportunity-seekers/

Basically stop thinking about the "old school" methods and take your business to where people are actively looking for you.

Chasing and convincing will only make you poorer and more frustrated.

I would also have on hand some literature (videos, ebook, etc) about your personal company that explains the basics of the plan, the products and the benefits. That way when someone comes to you and asks about your company you can give them honest info (not pitching or selling) about what it is all about. Let them make their own decision and come to you.

Hope this helps.

Hi, Erica
I saw the question asked by the guy who is in Amway and you advised him to work on branding himself first. I just started new in Amway and also the education system Network 21. I need your help and expertise how to start step by step (consider me MLM for dummies) and grow a successful and profitable business. How to set myself on internet and attract traffic, prospects so I can sponsor or have more customers. I was reading a lot of stuff from magnetic sponsoring and Adam Taha e-book on twitter and blog. I need your help!!!
Hey Richard, your question deserved a lot more than just a couple lines in here so I did a post for you in my nerve center. Here is the link to get to it... http://kennyanderica.com/mlm-tips-tricks/steps-to-grow-mlm-biz-online/
thanks for the question and keep 'em comin'!

Yes Erica I was wondering why I'm seeing more and more website promising to show people how to make money in MLM, but yet no one is telling anybody what their MLM is. What MLM business are you in and how big is your group? Why are there thousands of sites wanting to train people to do MLM, but yet I never hear of any good MLM companies out there. Are you aware of any really good MLM companies that make a consumable product that everyone uses? I'm not interested in selling an exotic juice from some exotic place in the Amazon that no one has ever heard of. I just want a business that has good products do you know of any. ThanksHey Steve!
This is a great question.

I can only tell you what I personally do for my business and that is, I don't promote my MLM business on the front end. I like to control who I introduce it to and the information they get.

See, if I let everyone know what MLM I am in on the front side then they could go out, do a search and find information that conflicts with what I teach my team members to do when they join or even worse, they could get confused and join under another leader in my company thinking they can then work with me personally.

I like to know who is interested so I can give them the info and the help they need to make an informed choice about what is right for them.

I work very closely with each of my team members so I like to pre-screen them. I only work with a handful (up to 6) at a time and I want to know they are comfortable with me and I with them before they join.

As far as good companies there are lots. I love your quote about exotic juices! There are more than a few of those companies out there.

It is really very smart of you to know that you need a daily consumable product. That is extremely important! If no one is using the product or service, how is any money being made?

Look for a company with a proven track record, the financial backing to keep it going long term, executives with integrity and a history of success, consumable products you will use, a fair compensation plan and a leader with a system that you feel you can work with.

If you are still interested in my MLM let's talk. Contact me on my social networking sites, leave me a way to reach you and the best time to talk or you can contact me directly 419 330 1113. Looking forward to talking to you!

Erica/Kenny: What is the best way to set up permanent links on a Word press blog, and what is it's purpose? Enjoyed your tutoring on betternetworkers,in regard to blog categories.Hey Wendell
Permalinks become the urls for all your posts and pages in your Nerve Center or blog. They can be used effectively to generate more traffic and more link love from the search engines simply by being configured the right way.

When you start a blog the default for wordpress is to add a /?p=77 after your domain name.
(or whatever number is assigned to that specific post or page)

That becomes your url for that post or page.

Domain.com/?p=77

Not really all that nice to look at and they tell the search engines and anyone looking at your link on the web somewhere absolutely nothing about what your post or page is about.

So, to take advantage of your permalinks you need to go into your Wordpress admin panel and change a setting. This is really easy to do.

wp- admin panel
Settings
Permalinks
Custom Structure: /%category%/%postname%/
Save Changes

Done!

That way your url for your posts and pages becomes something like this:

YourDomain.com/Category/Post-Title

That structure tells the search engines what the keywords are for your post because you should be using them in your category name and in your post title.

More keywords, better chance at ranking higher in the search engines!

For example here is the post I did about using categories effectively in a Nerve Center

http://kennyanderica.com/mlm-tips-tricks/categories-mlm-nerve-center

Domain name- KennyandErica.com
Category - mlm-tips-tricks
Post Title- categories-mlm-nerve-center

This is VERY IMPORTANT!!!
If you change your permalinks but already have shared links on the web to posts or pages that you did with the old structure you will need to use a plugin like Dean’s Permalinks Migration.

If you change them without it and someone clicks on your old link (in an article or forum post for example) that link will no longer work! It will be dead!

This does not apply to www.yourdomain.com but to yourdomain.com/?p=77

So there you have it Wendell. Thanks for the question and make sure you friend me on Better Networker so we can get to know each other.

Cheers!

Hi Erica,
I'm launching the first edition of my weekly eNewsletter tomorrow and I just wanted to get your permission to feature your blog with a link to it in the newsletter. It is starting out small, but I have a vision for it that will take it online in the near future. I hope to make it a community magazine for the online marketing industry. If you would like, I could email the newsletter to you before I release it.

Thanks,
Wendy Hewlett
