Are Text Based Emails Letting Your Business Down?

Email marketing is a huge part (or should be) of your business but are your text based messages really doing what you want them to?

The idea behind email marketing is simple- send a message directly to your prospect’s inbox on a regular basis to showcase what you have to offer as a leader and to get them to remember you and your brand.

Brilliant idea! Capture a lead once and be able to market to them for life!  And every smart marketer knows the real money is in the email list you build for your business.

Your autoresponders are supposed to get your list members to:

  • know, like and trust you.
  • hear what you have to say
  • feel engaged and appreciated
  • recognize your name and brand immediately

But you can only sell, brand and educate if your prospect takes the time to read what you have written.

So, with all the text based messages that get sent out everyday are you getting lost in the inbox shuffle?

Fortunately there is another option.

One that is just as easy to use- maybe even easier for some.

Video email

Instead of boring text based messages, a personal video message is sent directly to your prospects inbox.

Sending a video email is like being right inside their computer, a welcome visitor inside their home or office.  They feel like they are the only ones in the world you’re speaking to.

As you can see from the screenshot I took of a video message I sent out below, even before they click the play button you stand out from the crowd.

They see an amazing image pop up right in their inbox and with just one click you are able to make your email message fun and engaging.

This is an extremely powerful way to stay “sticky” with your list members and get your You Inc brand out faster than ever.

Video autoresponders combine everything we love about social networking and email marketing into one package.

If you want to check out how I am using video email, drop your info into the form on the right side of my site.

I am betting you’ll see the amazing potential of this service for your business before you finish watching my first video message.

Make it a great day!

    Hi,

Interesting idea. I am not sure I would love to receive ten emails per days from various businesses with video embedded but I think it’s worth trying it.

Did you do some A/B testing to see the click rate of video emails versus text emails? Would be interesting to compare & see the results.

Hey Olivier, I am getting fantastic results with the video emails and I just started using them. People are really responding favorably and I find that they get opened quicker and more often than my text based ones. I get a notification when one of the messages get watched so I can follow up easily as well.

And the videos aren’t embedded in the messages.

The recipient sees the image of the player in the message but when they click to play it, it opens a new browser tab and the video plays from in there. Nothing to download and it doesn’t matter what operating system or players the recipient has installed.

    High tech meets high touch.
    Make it a great day!

This certainly creates a very professional image of the sender. However, what if the sender is “camera shy” & does not like making videos, it there the ability to create text type videos instead?

    Otherwise, it works for me.

Sure Michael. You can create any type of video you want.

Use tools like screen capture with power point slides or tools like Animoto and create really fun, professional movies in minutes.

Then, instead of recording them with a webcam, you just upload them from a file on your computer and save it to your Talk Fusion Video Library. (You can also call up these videos for future use or post them to your favorite social networking sites and the Fusion Wall- Talk Fusion’s own version of YouTube.)

The possibilities are as endless as your imagination! And I know you have a great one of those!

Oh and stay tuned because my next post will be about taking a text document and turning it into a video. Super easy and a lot of fun.
