I just want to take a minute to thank everyone that sent in questions this week. It means a lot to me that you’d take the time to submit them and even more that you trust my opinion on these really important issues. So again- thanks!
Today’s questions are from Peter.
We have talked about how he’s going to get out of the trucking industry and into a more solid home business over the last few months on Facebook. At the very beginning of January he made a commitment to making his home business work this year. He’s got a primary business he’s passionate about and has just ordered his MLMMVP.com Nerve Center. He has also read Magnetic Sponsoring so is on his way to success but even though he’s moving in the right direction he still has a lot of questions.
And he should! The day you stop asking questions and searching for answers is the day you should quit this industry.
Here’s what he sent me…
OK Erica here’s my question.
I’m not very good at writing ads or inspiring emails for a auto responder. How do I write these things, I have no idea where even to start.
Sure I can write some stuff of how I’m sick of the trucking industry, but so for I’ve had no success in my business, it took me 2 months to sponsor 2 people and one of those can canceled there membership and sending there products back for a full refund.
How can I say this stuff works when I’ve just started. I know Mike Dillard says fake it until you make it.
I’m still waiting for my NC to come online and am going over some of the things that I have to do. I must admit I’m a little nervous about this and feel that it’s a gamble that going to blow up in my face.
where do I start? until I have money rolling in where are the best areas to focus my marketing that will not cost me huge amounts of cash if any at all?
Thanks in advance.
Peter
Great questions Peter.
Let’s start with the first one.
Writing good ads and emails is all about 3 things- being yourself, practice and tracking. Copywriting is a daunting task for almost everyone. But if you know what your target audience wants and needs then it is much easier.
Put yourself in their shoes.
- What is it that keeps them up at night?
- What dreams and desires do they have?
- What do you know that will help them get further in their business or solve their issues?
You need to think of those things every time you sit down to write.
Be yourself in your messages. No one needs you to be perfect or a all knowing guru. They just want to know that you are there to help them and that you are a real person. Trying to be someone you’re not will only attract the wrong people to you and your business.
Then track it, track it, track it! This will set you apart. When you know what works and what doesn’t, then it’s easy to repeat the good and lose the bad.
Oh and you’re lucky- we are giving you 60 days worth of pre-written, guaranteed to sell for you autoresponders as part of your NC. All you have to do is add your signature and links to your primary business to them.
Fake it ’til you make it!
This is a huge problem for a lot of people. They think they don’t have anything to offer others because they have had little to no success themselves.
This is where being a leader comes in.
Even if it’s your second day in the business you know more than the person who joined today.
Then build on that.
If you are reading this blog, are part of the Magnetic Sponsoring community and have bought something of Mike’s, you have a huge amount of knowledge that 80% of the marketers out there don’t have.
Use that to your advantage.
Again, no one wants a “Know it All” to tell them what to do. They want someone who understands what they are going through and can help them get to the other side.
Find something that you like or are good at. Learn everything you can about it and then start teaching that to others.
Be the “Anti Guru”. Let people know that you might not know everything but what you do know is this…
Your Nerve Center or NC
I am thrilled that you are nervous. Why? Because it means you are about to learn something new and something exciting!
Your NC will be the home for everything you do online and when you are finished the training you will have more knowledge than 96% of the marketers out there and 90% of the bloggers on the web.
That makes you EXTREMELY VALUABLE! Take what you are learning and pass it on to others and position yourself as a leader in this industry! This means that you won’t have to “fake it” for long!
Where do I start?
After you customize your NC and your autoresponders it’s time to start your marketing efforts.
Your NC has a built in Sales Funnel that will give you front end sales to help fund the back end residual income business or marketing efforts- so now all you have to do is get traffic to your site.
Facebook is a fantastic place to start if you are low on cash. If you do it right it doesn’t really even take all that much time.
Find people with similar interests as you. Home based business owners are the best because they fit perfectly for what you will be offering for free on your NC. Join groups that they are in. Build relationships and have conversations. Ask them questions and start dialogues. Add them in as friends and offer good, solid help to their biggest questions. You will get leads and sales before you know it.
Video sharing. This is one of my all time favs. Video sharing makes it dead easy for you to position yourself as a leader. You can’t hide behind a sales page which makes you a real person and let’s face it, there are very few of those online these days. Be yourself, offer something of worth to others and then start building relationships. YouTube is a brilliant place to do that. Comment, rate and watch other people’s videos in your target audience. Subscribe to their channel and most likely they will subscribe to yours. Ask them questions, offer advice, be helpful.
HINT *** Don’t forget to post about the same topic on your NC and then add that link to your video. It should go at the very beginning of your video description and always use the http://www.your_domain.com/post_title before. This makes the link clickable so your viewers can go directly to your post without having to search around. And it gives you a great link back to your NC. Always a good thing!
One more way to drive all kinds of traffic to your NC is with forum posts.
I love forums but only the ones that aren’t full of people pitching and selling me all kinds of crap! Find one or two that your target audience hangs out in and sit back and watch what they talk about. This is a great way to get into your audience’s head.
Find out what they are passionate about and figure out how you can help them in some way. Create a helpful post on your NC and then go back and add a reply on the forum with the link to your post in it. Give the basics of what is in your NC post and then a “I was so upset by this that I wrote a blog post about it. You can check it out here…” or “I get this question all the time so I took the time to write a blog post about it. Here is the link… I hope it helps”
There are tons of ways to get traffic and if you’re going to use Social Networking sites like the ones I mentioned above PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT SELL ON THEM! I cannot say this enough!

The moment you become a sales person you’re out! These sites are about building relationships and offering your leadership to others. Never about pitching or selling.
Let your NC and your autoresponders do the selling for you.
Get people to know, like and trust you and they will buy whatever you tell them to in the end.
Don’t rush into a sale.
Concentrate on becoming more valuable to the online communities you are a part of and soon you will have 30 – 50 leads a day pouring in.
Thanks for the questions Peter and keep up the great work! Trust me- it will all pay off in the end.

Peter- you are going to be great! Your NC is ready for now so it’s up to you.
You have access to the tools and training the 6 and 7 figure earners are using. There very few in this industry that can say the same thing. Take actionable steps each day and this will work for you.
Cheers
Erica

Hi. Really good info on MLM Leads. I saw your nice blog while researching google. For the last few days I’ve been trying to learn more. Especially anything to do with the actual lead generation. So I am glad I encountered you.

Thanks for writing about this. There’s a bunch of good tech information on the internet. You’ve got a lot of that info here on your site. I’m impressed – I try to keep a couple blogs somewhat ongoing, but it’s a struggle sometimes. You’ve done a big job with this one. How do you do it?

Hey Philip. Thanks for the comment. First congrats on the blogs, it’s a really worthwhile part of your business but you do have to keep at it. I like to write about things I am passionate about. That keeps me inspired to write more. I also take a note pad with me where ever I go so that if the mood strikes me or if I come across something I want to post about later I can jot it down. That always gives me good things to write about. The other thing to remember is always think of your readers first. What do they need help with. Your blog should be about their needs and wants, not yours. Keep the pitching and selling to a minimum and concentrate on providing helpful content people love to read and share. The sales will come later! Thanks for reading. Cheers! Erica
