Eat The Frog First

I’ve done this many times.  I still have to force myself to do it.  But trust me, after a while it does get easier.

NO – I’m not talking about some bizarre cuisine.  I would never dream of harming Kermit, Robin, The Frog Prince or Mr. Toad – for the sake of my appetite…Okay, Mr. Toad is not actually a frog but you get the idea.  I would never hurt the slimey little creatures, let alone put one in my mouth, cooked or otherwise.

The phrase:

Eat the Frog First

refers to doing something you don’t want to do.

We all have things we are uncomfortable with, hate or are even afraid to do.  You may have experiences like this in your business as well.  When you set up your day, do those things first!

If you are nervous on the phone… pick it up before you do anything else.

If you hate to keep track of accounting and expenses and it’s the end of the month, bust out the calculator first.

Whatever makes you uncomfortable will sit on your computer screen or desk in your DMO (Daily Method of Operation) and loom over you the entire time you are working.  If you get it done first, it’s over and you won’t have to think about it anymore.

If it is something that is possible to outsource and you can afford it, get someone else to do it.  Making your time more productive and more fun!

So grab that knife and fork and “Eat That Frog”

…so to speak.
